Owners, land managers and facility managers are beginning to leverage existing geospatial data to find sustainable design solutions for natural resources management, facility assessment, energy and water use reduction and behavior modification.  Sustainable design solutions mimic the wisdom of natural systems.  Geospatial data sets such as thermal imagery, LiDAR and GIS allow for visualization and analysis of buildings and infrastructure holistically, like a natural system and will be a foundation to a net-zero future.  Geospatial tools can aid with energy auditing of facilities on bases and campuses, with ecosystem restoration and effectively utilize natural resources and with visualizing future healthy neighborhoods and communities.
