It can be intimidating to take on a new BIM software package, particularly when you are well-versed in a previous package. You have invested a great deal of time to learn the commands, techniques, shortcuts, and work-arounds needed to do architectural drawings in 2D software. You might even be considered the CAD expert in your firm.
The purpose of this session is to address the needs of 2DCAD users and show you how to quickly transfer your 2DCAD skills to a similarly advanced level with BIM. Over 80% of BIM users were once 2DCAD users, so you will be in good company while you learn things like:
• How BIM automatically handles the management of drawing scale configurations and layer assignments, freeing up more of your time to focus on design instead of mundane tasks
• How 2D documentation is automatically generated and updated in the background while you create your Building Information Models
• The benefits of a BIM approach for sustainable design
