Facility managers are faced with a multitude of challenges including reacting to daily operational needs, responding to tenant concerns, compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, and ongoing maintenance. For those who choose to apply for and obtain/maintain LEED certification for their facilities, additional record-keeping and monitoring is required. This session will provide insights as to how a web- and GIS-based information system can be established to:
• Maintain as-built information about the existing infrastructure
• Collect and maintain detailed information about energy use, water consumption, and indoor environmental characteristics
• Conveniently analyze collected data on-the-fly and present the results of the analysis in an easily understood dashboard
• Facilitate reporting to authorities
• Reduce operational costs while improving the work environment of tenants
